Diatryma Armored Car

This is a little something I made for Steven Satak's fan-produced Battletach project, called the Technical Readout: 3063 Vehicle Annex. The title is a little misleading, as it covers both conventional vehicles and Battlemechs. The mix of different artists also allows a good mix of styles. I cant wait for it to be released!

This is an armored police car. It was designed by the Outworlds Alliance military to deal with outlaws in remote urban settings. It's single crewman is both the diver and the gunner. This feat is made possible with a HUD (heads-up-display)-based targeting computer linked to the gun turret, much like the 30mm chaingun mounted on the Apache attack helicopter - that is, where the diver is looking, the weapons are fixed on! Much of the design is based on the driver being seated at the center, to maximizing his field of view. The little teardrop studs on each corner are sensor casings for the HUD system.
